As co-manager of the ATD-OC So Cal Young Professionals SIG, Program Manager for the December MLE, contributor to TTU virtual creating training, and team member of the Marketing Team, Jessica has demonstrated the spirit of volunteerism and to the TD profession. Jessica embodies the definition of hard work and commitment to the profession as well as to ATD-OC. |

Award of Merit
Given to members of at least three years, who assume responsibility for project leadership in the Chapter and/or national ATD level; who have served as a previous or present Chapter Board member, Manager, or committee member. Requirements:
| ![]() In 2021 Lynn significantly helped the chapter deliver excellent programs to its members in a difficult year where everything was online. There was no one to run programs in 2021, and that put at risk the chapter monthly learning events, but Lynn stepped up and took on the VP Programs role for the entire year in addition to being the chapter President Elect. She built a team of program managers, providing leadership that reflected positively on the chapter, and consistently delivered an event once a month that aligned with the ATD capability model. Lynn demonstrated true commitment to the chapter, its members, the BOD and also to ATD national. |
Spotlight Award |
This award serves to recognize volunteers who have consistently offered their time and skills to support our Chapter. Designated in 2021, this award was created to recognize special volunteers who have continued to support the Board and Chapter despite challenges experienced during unprecedented times. |
![]() For the past two years, Sam has volunteered with the Marketing and Talent Management teams to assist with marketing of special events on social media. Sam has served as VOM Manager, reaching out to VOMs to collect their bio, picture, and created the recognition posts on social media. He has also kept up with daily postings on social media to help bring awareness of ATDOC. Lastly, Sam has helped to train new Marketing members. | ![]() For the last two years, Melissa has been the leader on the social media team, taking the reins from Cecilia. Melissa is the first one to respond to emails and get things done. She has helped train new committee members, and brings fresh ideas to the program. Further, she will no longer be on the committee in 2022, so will be the last time we can highlight her. |
Sheri Long Outstanding Teamwork Award |
Given annually, when appropriate, to an exceptional project or functional team of chapter members, working effectively together in creative collaboration to provide an existing or new service to the chapter. This service contributes to sustaining or enhancing member benefits and/or serving the local training & development professional community.
The Total Trainer Creating Training (TTCT) Team - These Chapter members have held together an ATD-OC trademark program that brings value to L&D professionals.

The Marketing Team - These Chapter members have worked effortlessly with last minute marketing requests, and whose work with weekly postings on social media cannot go un-noticed. From their Monday and Friday inspirational messages to their monthly clever and witty postings of monthly and SIG speakers, the small and mighty Marketing Team has played a significant role in moving ATD-OC forward.
