Lynn Nissen is a Learning and Development professional with 10+ years’ experience in Bio Tech, Manufacturing, and High-Tech organizations. She has been a member of ATD-OC since 2018.
As President Elect, she supported the President in achieving the chapter goals, to prepare for the position of President and learn new ways to contribute her skills and abilities.
As VP Talent Management, she was able to meet many new members and volunteers. She has been passionate about helping volunteers find an opportunity that makes them happy. This understanding of what motivates our volunteers and chapter members will inform her viewpoint as President Elect.
Lynn believes that ATD-OC provides Learning and Development professionals with a broader understanding of their profession, through its programs and learning opportunities, through the interaction with other members and through an investment in their own skill development and growth.
The benefits of a professional network can be challenging to quantify. For members of ATD-OC, the professional enrichment is enhanced, by a sense of community and professional relationships.
Her question for every chapter member is, “What are your career goals and how can ATD-OC help you achieve them?”
In addition to all things training and learning, she also enjoys reading, visiting gardens, and spending time with her family.

As the President for the ATD-Orange County Chapter, I will collaborate with and also support the board in order to achieve chapter goals.
I have been an ATD-OC member and volunteer since 2015, VP Technology 2017-2018, and President-Elect 2019-2020.
I have a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and relocated from the UK to Orange County over 10 years ago. Since coming to this wonderful area I have diversified career-wise, and have been involved with IT, HR and Corporate Compliance training and training systems for large healthcare and technology organizations.
Dr. Kim-Khue Chieffo (Kim) is a learning and development professional who is passionate about her work in transformational change. She is a life-long learner with values rooted in the pursuit of self-discovery, servant leadership, and volunteerism; seeking to help build a better tomorrow by creating opportunities for those with whom she comes into contact.
Early in her career, Kim found that leaders of change practice the art and science of motivational psychology, appreciative inquiry, and mindfulness. With these goals serving as her “North Star,” Kim went on to complete her Bachelor’s in Psychology at UCI, Master’s in Instructional Technology at Teacher’s College Columbia University, and in Organizational Leadership from Brandman University. She never once dreamt of pursuing any of these degrees, but realized along with her “hands-on” practical “be in the trenches work” that education was the opportunity to the path of transformational change, and that a passion for excellence was the will to engineer impactful change.
Today, Kim owns and operates a STEAM enrichment program for children ages 5 to 12, serves as the Technology Adoption Analyst at Best, Best & Krieger LLP, and supports non-profits as an HR Consultant.
She has also served on the Board of ATD – Orange County as VP Talent Development for the past two years. Kim has been nominated to serve in the role of President-Elect for ATD – Orange County. She is a proud recipient of the Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) from ATD National and Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) from HRCI. Kim loves to travel, cook, and spend time with her family.

Hello! A little about me. I have been in the training field for the majority of my working life, and I have a passion for developing others. I have a history of volunteering in various capacities from mentoring students at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), Speaking at the Human Resources Association at CSULB, participating in job fairs and mock interviewing, and serving on the board of the Professionals in Human Resources Association for over eight years.
During my tenure on the board of PIHRA Long Beach, I served as Treasurer for four years. Further, as a prior business owner, I understand the importance of timely financial reporting and annual forecasting. I will use my experience to ensure a thoughtful plan is developed utilizing what is currently in place while bringing my ideas to make it better. I have a knack at getting work done while collaborating with others to ensure a positive outcome.
Furthermore, as the current CFO and past VP of Marketing for ATD-OC, I look forward to continuing to serve the members as a board member.
Hello, ATD-OC members! I am excited to be running for Secretary to the 2023 Board of Directors. As your Secretary, I will utilize my skills as an instructional designer to create and maintain important chapter documents with accuracy and clarity. Meeting minutes are crucial for a functioning and transparent board, and as your Secretary recording keeping will be my top priority.
If elected, serving as your Secretary will be my first step in giving back to this great organization. This chapter and ATD Global have been instrumental in my personal and professional development as an e-learning instructional designer. Originally working as an ESL adjunct professor in higher, I could not have made this career change without the resources and supporting community of ATD-OC.
As a young professional early in my career, I hope to utilize the role of Secretary as a starting point for being involved with ATD-OC for years to come. I previously served on the board of the Orange County chapter of CATESOL where I served as a Vice President and President-Elect. While working as an adjunct professor at the North Orange County Community College District (NOCCCD), I served as President of the state’s largest union of part-time faculty Adjunct Faculty United. I was honored to be the youngest union president in the history of the California Federation of Teachers.

Hi ATD-OC! My name is Jessica Del Rosario (she/her) and I’m running for the VP of Membership & Talent Development.
I believe that the success of the Chapter would not be possible without our members and volunteers. As an early-career professional, past ATD-OC Secretary, and a current Southern California Young Professional OC Representative, I recognize the importance of a community that is dedicated to the mentorship and development of those early in their career.
My goal is to ensure that all members and volunteers feel ATD-OC is a place to develop their existing skillset, gain new skills, and feel a strong sense of belonging and appreciation.When not working or volunteering, you’ll find me at hot yoga!
Co-Vice President, Professional Development - Total Trainer University
Eddie Gardiner is a Learning and Development professional with 15 years of experience working in non-profit and government sectors and currently works with the Learning and Organizational Development team with the County of Orange. Before coming to the County, Eddie worked with the YMCA of Greater Long Beach for 13 years. He had many responsibilities while working with the YMCA, including working on a national training team delivering best practice training for expanded learning professionals. He is an experienced instructional designer, training facilitator, and OD practitioner. Last year Eddie earned his CPTD.
Eddie has participated in ATC-OC’s Total Trainer University and has been an active volunteer on the Total Trainer revamp group during this past year. So it is fitting that Eddie is excited to support the development of the Total Trainer programs, as VP of Professional Development. He is excited to work with like-minded individuals who are enthusiastic about elevating professionals in the field.
Eddie has a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies from California State University Long Beach and a Master of Public Administration from National University focusing on organizational leadership. He is married to his wife Dana, a 7th-grade teacher, and has two children: Lucas who is six, and Mia, who is one.
As a board member of ATD-OC, I would like to contribute my knowledge and skills to workforce development. I would like to help professionals achieve their full potential by improving their knowledge, skills, and abilities in the workplace.
Workforce development leads to prosperous employees, businesses, and local communities. By training and upskilling our workforce, organizations can enjoy happier employees, lower turnover, and exciting growth opportunities — not to mention support growth for the economy as a whole. ATD, as the largest professional association for learning and talent development professionals, offers comprehensive resources for organizations and individuals. The opportunity to be the VP, Professional Development at ATD-Orange County, will enable me to support ATD’S commitment to service and excellence.
Dr. Uma Alahari is an educational leader with national and international experience. Uma obtained her PhD in Education from Chapman University, Orange California. She also has a Masters in Human Development from India and Teaching credentials from New Zealand and California. Uma is currently working as Assistant Professor at the School of Education, University of UMass Global (previously Brandman University). Uma has been contributing to the field of Education both in P-12 and higher education for 15+ years. She presented at many national and regional conferences and facilitates workshops and trains leaders, teachers, volunteers, employees on many topics of human development, socio-emotional well-being, conflict resolution, diversity and inclusion, mindfulness and emotional intelligence.
Vice President, Professional Development - Workshops
My passion for helping others learn and grow has been a part of my everyday life for as long as I can remember, even as far back as my first job, where I trained new hires and helped them navigate the world of scooping ice cream. For four years, I was the Enrichment Programs Manager for OptumRx (a multiple ATD BEST winner), where I introduced new training programs for potential trainers and high potential staff. Now, as the Manager of Training and Development for SCS Engineers, I am leading the creation of a front-line and middle manager training program.
As we continue into the new normal, I want to help our members gain new knowledge and skills by exploring new technologies and practices that will push us to be the next best version of ourselves.
If elected to this position, I will focus on offering workshops on topics that you want, that will enrich and develop your skills, and bring value to your experience with ATD-OC.

I am excited to be nominated for ATD-OC’s VP Programs, and the potential of supporting all aspects of learning and development within the ATD-OC community. I have been serving as a program manager for monthly learning events since joining ATD-OC in September 2021.
I currently work as a Learning and Development Specialist at Thrive Causemetics, and previously held global leadership positions in consumer goods product development for more than 10 years, with extensive experience leading and collaborating across functions and geographies.
I have always had a passion for broad learning as well as developing depth in new skills and competencies, in the pursuit of becoming well-rounded. I was inspired at a young age by polymaths like Ben Franklin, Helen Keller, Buckminster Fuller, Nicolaus Copernicus, Marie Curie, and Leonardo Da Vinci. This inspiration is demonstrated in the diversity of my education and work experience spanning both physical and social sciences, which includes a B.S. in Chemical and Materials Engineering, a Doctor of Chiropractic degree, and a M.Ed. in Organizational Learning, Performance, and Change. I have worked well over 10,000 hours in each field holding positions as a chemical engineer, a graduate professor, a chiropractor, a corporate leader, and organizational learning and development specialist.
I hope to share my passion for broad and deep learning with you in the coming year by collaborating with chapter members, leadership, and Special Interest Groups in ATD-OC to create a blend of amazing learning experiences supporting your personal and professional growth.
