President

Lynn Nissen

This is a non-elected position.

Lynn Nissen is a Learning and Development professional with 10+ years’ experience in Bio Tech, Manufacturing, and High-Tech organizations.  She has been a member of ATD-OC since 2018.

As President Elect, she supported the President in achieving the chapter goals, to prepare for the position of President and learn new ways to contribute her skills and abilities.

As VP Talent Management, she was able to meet many new members and volunteers.  She has been passionate about helping volunteers find an opportunity that makes them happy.  This understanding of what motivates our volunteers and chapter members will inform her viewpoint as President Elect.

Lynn believes that ATD-OC provides Learning and Development professionals with a broader understanding of their profession, through its programs and learning opportunities, through the interaction with other members and through an investment in their own skill development and growth.

The benefits of a professional network can be challenging to quantify. For members of ATD-OC, the professional enrichment is enhanced, by a sense of community and professional relationships.

Her question for every chapter member is, “What are your career goals and how can ATD-OC help you achieve them?”

In addition to all things training and learning, she also enjoys reading, visiting gardens, and spending time with her family.

Since coming to this wonderful area I have diversified career-wise, and have been involved with IT, HR and Corporate Compliance training and training systems for large healthcare and technology organizations.

Candidates

President-Elect

Kim-Khue Chieffo

Dr. Kim-Khue Chieffo (Kim) is a learning and development professional who is passionate about her work in transformational change.  She is a life-long learner with values rooted in the pursuit of self-discovery, servant leadership, and volunteerism; seeking to help build a better tomorrow by creating opportunities for those with whom she comes into contact.

Early in her career, Kim found that leaders of change practice the art and science of motivational psychology, appreciative inquiry, and mindfulness.  With these goals serving as her “North Star,” Kim went on to complete her Bachelor’s in Psychology at UCI, Master’s in Instructional Technology at Teacher’s College Columbia University, and in Organizational Leadership from Brandman University.  She never once dreamt of pursuing any of these degrees, but realized along with her “hands-on” practical “be in the trenches work” that education was the opportunity to the path of transformational change, and that a passion for excellence was the will to engineer impactful change.

She has also served on the Board of ATD – Orange County as VP Talent Development for the past two years.  Kim has been nominated to serve in the role of President-Elect for ATD – Orange County. She is a proud recipient of the Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) from ATD National and Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) from HRCI.  Kim loves to travel, cook, and spend time with her family.

VP of Professional Development - Total Trainer University

Dina Aman

My name is Dina Aman, and I am interested in running for the position of Vice President of Professional Development-Total Trainer University.  I am an engineer with over twenty-eight years of experience in construction and project management and I fell into training when I volunteered as a Military Resilience Trainer at my organization, US Army Corps of Engineers.

As a trainer, I found myself captivated by the engagement with the learners and the content being delivered.  Curiosity mixed with a dash of a pandemic-induced world shut down made for the perfect opportunity to dive into the world of learning and development (L&D), coaching, Lego bricks and interior design. Yes, I have a lot of curiosity.

As soon as the Total Trainer University was back in person, I signed up and am currently enrolled in Creating Training.  Inspired by instructors and learners from the Delivering Training course, I sought out additional volunteer trainer opportunities within my organization.  Training and creating content are areas I am actively working to gain proficiency and experience.  After experiencing the Total Trainer University, I appreciate the great value the courses offer to seasoned trainers as well as people like me looking to transition into the L&D industry.

The opportunity to serve as Vice President of Professional Development-Total Trainer University will not only support my personal goal of developing myself in the L&D industry, but also introduces perspective from a developing trainer transitioning from a different industry such as myself.

Vice President, Professional Development - Workshops

Anthony Harmetz

I’m a longtime ATD-OC volunteer (including Past President and managing the Total Trainer Programs for several years) with over 20 years’ experience designing, developing, delivering and implementing training and other learning initiatives. As the VP, Workshops, I plan to help the chapter arrange several workshops in 2024—including at least one “In a Box” workshop—a Train-the-Trainer session that would provide the materials needed to lead training on a specific topic (for example, Leading Meetings or Giving Feedback), a demonstration of the training session, and an opportunity for attendees to practice presenting it.

Vice President, Programs

Richa Mukherjee

My love of learning started early when I was at school, reading all of Shakespeare’s work by Grade 7.  My learning continually progressed, as I graduated with a bachelor’s in management and accounting, followed by master’s in business administration majoring in Human Resource Development. My passion for talent management and people's success led me to pursue a career in HR, starting as an HR Business Partner and soon after moving into the Learning and Talent Development role. I now have over 21 years of experience leading, designing, developing, and implementing learning strategy and solutions, working in multiple countries across four continents. I have been fortunate to have worked with great teams and organizations across industries, generations, and geographies.

Vice President,

Talent Management

Taylor Dickey

I am keen on the VP of Talent Management position, as I am confident that my enthusiasm and expertise in recruiting can greatly enhance the learning and development environment. My well-established network of connections further enables me to effectively connect individuals and foster meaningful collaborations. I believe I can contribute significantly to ATD's success and growth, and I am excited about the opportunity to make a positive impact in this role.
