Research on the importance of effective communications uncovers that a startling 56% of US dollars spent on a project is at risk due to ineffective communications. Projects falter, programs fail.
If your training program is a key component of an organizational change or improvement initiative, mindful communications will serve as a critical component of its success. Otherwise, your program may fall under the list of ineffective initiatives that consume organizational time and money.
Key to creating mindful communications is a communication plan. A communication plan will serve as a road map to ensure that your message gets to your audience. But before that, it helps you test assumptions, clarify your team's goals, and identify the method for a consistent, singular message that is delivered over all communication channels.
Join us as we walk through creating a communication plan.

Stage Authority Formula is a research supported, brain-based program that will show you how to exude confidence on stage, gain authority of the room and powerfully lead a training session or deliver a presentation.
By the end of this program you will...
The focused attention that leads to connection
Identify which of the three come most easily to you
Which you most need to work on
How to measurably up your level of impact in each area
And how to modify your presentations to the way you approach each of the three areas depending on your purpose, material and audience.
Who should attend:
Two additional reasons to attend:
If you have not yet seen Dr. Cynthia present on Warmth/Authority/Focused Attention, the content will be completely new to you—as well as being profound and impactful. You will not have experienced this material before.
Dr. Cynthia works with people in a very impactful way. At the session, you’ll work on physically embodying the three elements so that you’ll experience them in your body and be able to recreate them later.
About our presenter:
Dr. Cynthia uses her experience in the language of the body to help organizations and individuals use the most powerful tool they have to be better communicators, both with themselves and others, so they can be more persuasive, make more money, and live happier, healthier lives.
With over 25 years helping patients from infants to octogenarians and Olympic athletes, Dr. Cynthia also had the honor of being selected as the Chiropractor for the All Women’s America’s Cup team as they made history.
Women account for half the U.S. Labor force and 60% of college graduates in U.S. and Europe. Yet, women hold only 5.0% of CEO positions at S&P 500 companies. In addition, emotional intelligence has been found to be a key aspect of leadership effectiveness. EQ assessment have found men and women to be strong in different areas, and these differences often advantage men and disadvantage women at work.
Further, men and women are raised in different “cultures.” This begins at birth and carries into the workplace. As a result, we approach virtually every aspect of business differently. Different approaches result in different perceptions, which have a significant impact on promotion.
The goal of this workshop is to provide awareness and help participants apply knowledge of these topics to address both perception and promotion, as well as leverage talent and diversity & inclusion. This will be achieved through a variety of exercises and discussion with both large and small groups, in a fun and interactive format. At the culmination of the workshop, participants will understand recent research, have a greater awareness of EQ and gender culture differences, and new tools to help them advance in their careers and improve their skills as leaders.
As training professionals, it's essential to understand the issues that keep women from advancing as part of your leadership development and talent management strategies. This session is based on the best-selling book, "The Power of Perception: Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, and the Gender Divide." Each attendee will receive an autographed copy.

This January, we seek to update our member's knowledge of relevant industries and industry segments.
Recognition in the workplace has been a hot topic recently (insert the seemingly mandatory Gallup quote about 33% of employees being engaged at work). Our December Learning Event is all about recognition -- specifically, recognition of our volunteers.
In conjunction with our annual awards ceremony, join us in a discussion about how recognition events improve team member engagement and support productivity. And what are the best practices to ensuring that such recognition programs have the desired impact?
Join presenter Devin C. Hughes as he addresses ways any organization can creatively and sustainably boost team member engagement through recognition.
Devin C. Hughes is an author, speaker, consultant, executive coach, and an internationally recognized expert on how work is evolving.
Devin has been consulting, training, speaking and writing about personal development and organizational change for the last decade. His approach draws from the science of positive psychology, positive organizational research, appreciative inquiry, neuroscience, mindset and mindfulness. It’s for this very reason that people come away from his keynotes entertained, inspired and motivated – but more importantly, with the practical, applicable, actionable tactics and strategies for acting on their inspiration and motivation. By the end of his talks, seminars and workshops, participants are equipped to deal with the day-to-day challenges they face.
He inspires people to achieve their personal and organizational goals faster by capitalizing on the power of the “Optimism, Positivity & Inclusion”. With a wealth of experience, he knows what it takes to generate meaningful change that will unite and inspire an organization.
This December, we seek to update our member's knowledge of relevant industries and industry segments.

We'll also review ATD-Orange County's annual report - a discussion on key accomplishments within our community as it supports OC talent development professionals.
Join us (online) as we discuss the key developments within our industry of the past year and how to apply the data to our own learning and development strategies.
