The lone leader at the top of a business is a thing of the past and strong leaders of today are expected to take advantage of the knowledge and strengths of their employees. Yet many leaders struggle with this as their employees hold back and play it safe. The Other Side of Fear is designed to help leaders evaluate themselves and their teams for authenticity and the ability to be vulnerable with each other.
Why authenticity and vulnerability? These behaviors in the workplace ultimately lead to greater honesty, better decisions, and an organization more capable of learning from its mistakes. But what does this look like in the workplace? What are the signs that you and your staff are being vulnerable? How do you spot someone armored up and not being authentic? What can you do to improve and take advantage of these skills in your business? This session will focus on examples of healthy and unhealthy behavior in the workplace and what tangible actions you can take to increase the vulnerability of your workforce in an effort to improve the productivity of your business.
About the Presenter:
Jason Galeener is a Sr. Manager of Learning and Development at Verizon. While he is currently getting his Master's Degree in Management and Leadership, his first "Masters" (in Emotional Intelligence) came from two solid years of in-depth marriage counseling and individual therapy. His passion and studies lie in leadership development, employee engagement, and workplace culture.
