*ATD Cultural Awareness and Inclusion capability“Cultural awareness and the ability to foster an inclusive work environment are requirements in today's global business climate. About your Presenters

Valerie Bath leads the North America region as CEO for Cultural Business Consulting.  She began intercultural training and coaching, following a career at one the most foremost management consulting firms in the world, Accenture. Her Accenture clients were leading global corporations.  She also worked directly for scientific technology leader Texas Instruments, Semiconductor. In both organizations, Valerie designed and implemented enterprise-wide multinational systems solutions.

Living abroad and working with highly talented professionals from literally all corners of the globe enabled her to identify cultural understanding as one of the most vital competencies for any corporation or organization with a global workforce.  For over 20 years, she has enabled leaders and employees from multinational companies to understand global business culture and work more effectively with colleagues and clients across borders.

Today, Valerie works side-by-side with a global team of cultural competency experts, trainers, and coaches.  She speaks, trains and consults about the importance of inclusion and cultural perspectives in corporate innovation, productivity, and profitability.   She leads the Culture Mastery 4C’s certification course for ATD professionals.

Tamara Carpenter is founder and principal consultant of TKC Consulting, a cultural consulting and coaching company dedicated to helping teams and organizations improve cultural intelligence.

A California native, Tamara spent over 10 years in Portugal successfully running a business and raising a family. This experience sensitized her to the influence individual culture has on how people think and behave, in both personal and professional settings. After returning to the US, she worked for the next decade evaluating Portuguese speaking professionals and equipping them for cross border assignments.

As a Human Capital professional, Tamara noticed that self-awareness and cultural intelligence were rarely highlighted in organizations, nor encouraged on teams, despite these skills playing a key role in cultivating appreciation for diversity.

Certified in industry leading cultural assessments, Tamara creates bespoke training for leaders and employs data analytics to help teams evaluate trends, improve collaboration, and increase empathy.  One of her most recent projects was training 150 corporate leaders and managers on becoming inclusive leaders.
