University-Corporate Partnerships: Case Studies, Best Practices and Lessons Learned

In this session we’ll look at the challenges and benefits of partnering with a University on employee development and talent management initiatives, some unique solutions, and lessons learned about what it takes to positively impact individual performance, team effectiveness, business productivity and corporate culture. Over the last eight years, Kathleen and her team have worked closely with a variety of organizations, including Fortune 500 companies, public sector agencies, non-profit organizations, and small-medium sized businesses to design, develop and deliver custom corporate training.
In addition to acquiring some proven tips and techniques, participants will have the opportunity to work together in small groups to resolve sticky issues and thorny problems presented in the case studies.
About the Presenter: Kathleen Wilson, MPA is a Director in the School of Extended Education at Brandman University. She works with a talented team of staff, instructors and consultants at the Irvine campus, primarily in the area of Leadership Development. In addition to custom corporate training, she has directed the development of a number of open enrollment, on-campus programs including Leadership NOW seminars; the Leadership Development series that includes certificates in Core Competencies, Coaching for Results, and Leading Organizations; and the three-phase Law Enforcement Agency Leadership certificate. Before coming to higher education, Kathleen worked for over a decade as a Career Management Consultant and spent 12 years in public administration working for a municipal government in the City Manager’s Office.
